This is my final version of my cover. I have re-designed it so I can make the most out of my improvements from my draft, I feel the house style is much more consistent throughout the magazine as I have kept the colours very similar throughout and also the font is the same. Everything necessary is there e.g. the barcode, the date, the masthead, the central image and sub headings. Along with this, the overall look is very stereotypical as it includes the conventions of what would be expected in a hip
Here I have re-done my contents page after receiving improvements from my draft. I included various pictures that took myself. I followed a stereotypical way of planning out a contents page for a magazine by aligning everything following Piet Mondrian's artistic design. This way it made sure all my pictures, fonts, text, logo's and headlines are balanced and straight, therefore making my contents page look more authentic and professional. The numbers for the pages are large and obvious in a stand out colour to make it easy for the reader to skim the page as it is only contents page and so I want to make it as easy as possible for the audience to identify what they want to look at and go to the page. The Instagram and Twitter logo's link into my audience as they are teens and the primary audience is girls and I know that these types of social networking websites are increasingly popular in this modern day.
I did this inside and outside of class. this includes all my7 final products and planning for my foundation portfolio in media studies.
This is my final dps I finished in class that I added to since feedback, I added a different image and altered the layout of the page and little details that I felt needed to change in order to improve the overall image. This fits in with the house style of both the cover and the contents, it includes the featured article and star, Myles Addison, as stated on both cover and contents again. There are stereotypical elements that I feel make the product look authentic like the watermark of the stars initials, the quote, the dropped caps and the layout.
I did this task in class in order to plan my DPS for when I write up my first draft. It let me explore different types of questions and I also planned my flat plan so I had an idea of the structure and presentation of my DPS and what it was going to look like overall.
These are a selection of photographs I took inside and out of college. I did this to get various types of images that I could possibly use for my content page. I've selected 3 so that I can have a central image that links to my main article, being the highlighted picture, and 2 secondary images of hip pop groups that I can associate with other articles included in my magazine. I chose the black and white image to be my central image as it displays a very posed look which is essential to create a professional looking hip pop magazine, the black and white makes the image look trendy and the
I did this in class and as part of my homework. I compared my finished magazine to another professional one to identify the similarities and the differences. The majority of the elements on both pages are very similar, therefore making my magazine look professional. There wasn't many differences between them both, as I have included slightly more conventions on my cover in comparison to XX magazine.
This is a task i did for homework to help me understand the stereotypical elements that writers and editors include in a professionally published magazine and why the tend to include them. This will help me when producing my own hip pop music magazine.
